Calendar vinyl, also known as intermediate vinyl, is a low cost vinyl which is great for short term signs, banners, window decals, ect. Calendar vinyl is usually available in around 3 to 6 year outdoor life span and 3 to 4 mils thickness. Calendar vinyl does not conform well on uneven or curved surfaces. *Not recommended for vehicle graphics.
Cast vinyl, also know as performance vinyl, is a high quality vinyl which is great for long term signs, banners, window decals, vehicles, ect. Cast vinyl is usually available in 9 to 12 year outdoor life span and 2 to 2.5 mils thickness. Cast vinyl is especially suitable for application on uneven and curved surfaces, corrugations and rivets.
The difference between Calendar and Cast vinyl is the way the vinyl is manufactured. While calendar vinyl starts as a solid and is stretched onto the adhesive, cast vinyl starts as a liquid and is poured onto the adhesive. Because of that reason, calendar vinyl is left with a memory and can have a tendency to expand and contract with hot and cold weather over time, which can lead to cracking or pealing. In addition when removing the vinyl after applied, the calendar vinyl can pull away from the adhesive leaving the adhesive residue behind on the surface, requiring the use of additional adhesive removers to clean the surface in which the vinyl was applied. Cast vinyl on the other hand has no memory and will not expand or contract which gives it a much longer life span. In addition, when removing cast vinyl the vinyl and adhesive will come off the surface in which the vinyl was applied together making for a much easier removal and the use of very little adhesive remover. Normally both types of vinyl are printable. We carry many brands and have a very large color selection of each type of vinyl including opaque, metallic, translucent, transparent, reflective and specialty films such as carbon fiber, gold and silver leaf, mossy oak, real tree and many more.
Perforated Window Film
Perforated Window Film is a perforated vinyl for window graphic applications. When printed and applied from the outside the graphics are visible , but is see thru from the inside. Pref. film has many uses including vehicles where it can be used to match with the rest of your wrap to allow your entire vehicle to be covered with graphics. It also looks good to just do your rear windows on an SUV or truck with a topper to deliver your message rather than a full wrap. The perf. film is also great on buses and office windows, etc. and is available in many styles and life spans usually from 1 to 7 years outdoor.
Wall wrap vinyl is available in both calendar and cast vinyl in both low tack and high tack adhesive, for both indoor and outdoor applications. The low tack adhesive is good for going over drywall. This way when removed it will not pull the paper off the dry wall. Wall wraps are available in many styles even for textured surfaces such as concrete, brick and industrial stucco. Wall wraps can be applied as murals, over lockers, as PVC free wall paper which can have up to a 20 year durability away from direct light and can be fire retardant. This give you the versatility of your own custom wallpaper when printed. We also carry a large selection of indoor low tack adhesive which can be used for CAD cut vinyl applications.
Corrugated plastic (CP) is a great low cost sign substrate which can be used for things like yard signs. CP can have cut vinyl applied, printed, or have printed vinyl applied, and can be custom cut to any size and are also available in a variety of colors.
A-Frame / Sidewalk / Wind Signs
A-frame, sidewalk, and wind signs are great for roadside or sidewalk exposure. The quality is higher than the corrugated yard signs and also great when there is no ground to place stakes for a typical yard sign. These signs can have cut or printed vinyl applied. The wind signs feature heavy duty springs between the sign and the base to resist heavy winds.
Vinyl banners are great for low cost advertising, celebrations, or special events. Vinyl banners can have cut vinyl applied, printed, or have printed vinyl applied, and are available in a variety of thicknesses, sizes and are also available in a variety of colors.
Magnet material like vinyl banners are great for advertising, celebrations, or special events. Magnet material can have cut vinyl applied, printed, or have printed vinyl applied, and are available in a variety sizes.
Laminated aluminum sign panel is a very versatile high quality long term sign substrate. There are a number of types of aluminum laminates available depending on your sign application. Core types include hardwood, corrugated plastic, and solid plastic. The cores are laminated with a thin sheet of painted aluminum. The laminated sheets can have cut vinyl applied, printed vinyl applied, or painted and are available in a variety of thicknesses from 3mm to 10mm and can be custom cut to any size in most cases up to 5' x 10'.
There is something about the look of a classic sandblasted redwood sign that is just hard to beat. We specialize in designing, blasting, and painting your redwood sign to give it that classic look that you so desire with materials that will allow it to last. We can accommodate a variety of shapes and sizes or create you a custom shape to match your specific needs. We can also equip your sign with posts, if required, and we can also install.
High Density Urethane (HDU) Sign Foam
A petroleum based material, HDU is naturally waterproof. This means that HDU lasts longer than wood and doesn't need to be replaced as often. HDU foam is a flexible, durable material and is much thicker than most types of foam. It was designed specifically to make signs, and can be made to look dimensional just like redwood signs. In addition, an HDU sign will not wrap, crack or bow like a solid wood sign can when exposed to the elements. Because it is lighter than wood, installation is simplified. We live in a world that is "going green" more and more with each day. So let's face it…some people choose HDU signs over Redwood to save trees!
